Thanks for joining me. My name is Jamie Quarto and I am the author of Doing It Jamie Style. DIJS is a lifestyle blog written by me personally. I am as eclectic as there are stars in the universe so you’ll never know what I’ll write about next. I am all about living life to the beat of my own drum and encourage others not to be afraid to do so.
I was born in 1965, raised in the Coachella Valley in California where I attended the local high school and college in Indio and Palm Desert. At the age of 26, I moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1989 where I still reside today where I live with my devoted husband of 17 years, 6 cats, 1 dog, 3 ferrets and a land snail named Pokie.
After close to 20 years as a hospice nurse, my career ended far to soon due to my own chronic health & autoimmune illnesses with Fibromyalgia (and all its co-morbidities), and Sjogren’s Syndrome just to name a couple since 2008. To this day not much has changed, if anything some areas has progressed making my day to day life a struggle but then, I just apply my term “doing it jamie style” continuing to find ways to keep on keepin’ on!
I am the youngest of four siblings so whenever I am doing something “Jamie style” I blurt out, “I’m the baby, gotta love me.” After all, who can stay mad at the baby for long? I have the most amazing blended family both blood and extended that I adore dearly. I live with my devoted husband of 17 years, 6 cats named Sid, Sam, Sadie, Olivia Lucy and Little Ricky, 1 insane dog named Snoopy (he’s a papillon/pomeranian mix), 3 ferrets, Simon, Smokie and Taz and one land snail aptly named, Pokie.
MY HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
So, remember me writing earlier “I am as eclectic as there are stars in the universe?” well, keep that in mind for there is no way I can touch base with all the things I love to do but here are some of my top picks.
- Reading, Writing and Learning New Things
- Coffee, I’m obsessed with it and one of my two vices I won’t give up. I even have a facebook page about coffee!
- DIY Projects, I am pretty artsy-craftsy
- Water-bath Canning/Preserving
- Sitting Out Side Nature Watching/Listening
- Being in the mountains surrounded by trees, streams, and lakes
So, as you see I have a lot of things to write about and I thank you for learning more about me. Don’t forget to subscribe to the blog as not to miss out on future posts.
My Best Always,
